Who can join the Marine Corps League?
The Marine Corps League (MCL) is a Marine Corps oriented organization. Membership in the MCL is comprised of Regular Members and Associate Members. To be eligible for Regular member in the MCL a person must meet one of the following criteria: Person who is serving, or has served honorably in the United States Marine Corps "on active duty", for not less than ninety (90) days, and persons who are serving, or have served in the United States Marine Corps reserve, and have earned no less than ninety (90) reserve retirement credit points; United States Navy Corpsmen and who have trained and served with United States Marine Fleet Marine Forces (FMF) units in excess of ninety (90) days and have earned the Marine Corps device (clasp) worn on the service ribbon, and those who earn the Warfare Device authorized for FMF Corpsmen; and United States Navy Chaplains having earned the FMF Badge serving with Marines. Those individuals who are not qualified to join as regular members of the MCL may be accepted as Associate Members.

To locate a detachment in the Northwest Division (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington) navigate to the "Detachment Locator" page. To locate a detachment not in the Northwest Division visit the Marine Corps League National website and use the detachment locator. Link is located in the site footer. Set the range in miles, type in a zip code, then select search.
How do I start a Marine Corps League detachment in my area?
Information about forming a detachment in your area can be found on the Marine Corps League National website on the "Recruiting" page. Once on the page scroll down below Recruiting to Forming a Detachment. Are there yearly dues and how much are they?
Yes. Dues will vary by type of membership. Visit the National Marine Corps League website for additional information or contact a local detachment of the Marine Corps League.
What are the dues used for?
Dues are necessary to provide the foundation of the Detachment’s fiscal program. A portion of the Detachment’s per capita dues collected will be submitted to the State Departments and the National Headquarters organizations to support their operations, the remainder will be kept in the Detachment’s general treasury. The amount of dues to be paid shall never be less than what is required by the National Headquarters. The payment of annual National membership dues entitles all members in good standing an automatic subscription to the Marine Corps League publication and enrollment privileges in any National Group Insurance Programs that may be in effect.
Can I fill out a membership form online and become a member of the Marine Corps League?
Yes you can. Marine Corps League National has a form online that can be filled out and submitted. You will need to provide a copy of your DD-214 and pay the $30.00 dues fee with a credit card. This will make you a member at large of the Marine Corps League.
